Discussed last meeting minutes

new business:
Checked suggestion box

-Practice rooms: Discussed policies from last meeting, practice room policy was typed up --- How do we enforce #3? Do we enforce it all? How is the classroom situation working (unlocking it for BMus) reworking of the language on the practice room sheet that will be posted in each room (Prof. John will rework)

-Newsletter: Vanessa suggested the idea of a newsletter for student-faculty, Imani suggested expanding it for the entire department; a way to let everyone know what student-faculty is doing, maybe putting it out every month, maybe making a myspace or facebook account or blackboard (maybe too early for blackboard --- do it in in a later semester); make an email account for s/f in order to send out mail to students (tangent: having a meeting to tell everyone about student/faculty, maybe do something this semester, having another large mandatory music major meeting in the fall) sending out an email in the next month regarding s/f notes, practice rooms?

Progress evaluations/juries: Prof. Lipsey will be at the next meeting to discuss his plan for juries, would like to institute nyssma levels as criteria for juries, everyone here should be having lessons? Having masters and upper level bachelor's students to teach lessons, everyone should be able to play on nyssma level 4, etc., tailoring juries to majors, making criteria clear to students and faculty (Prof. Hart will write a form for mm/ba teachers, Prof. Bell will edit it), will make a form that outlines what happens in lessons that gets turned in before lesson grades are turned in, making independent study mandatory? Registering for lessons for a 1/2 credit? ($90) Doing something around school (service-wise) to get scholarship
